# Requirements

This chapter lists the prerequisites for an optimal use of Genymotion Cloud on Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Alibaba Cloud or Microsoft Azure.

# Web browser

To use Genymotion Cloud and view your instances in a web browser, we recommend using Google Chrome 34+ (Mobile or Desktop). Genymotion Cloud is also known to work fine on the following browsers, but may not provide an optimal level of performance.

  • Mozilla Firefox 30+
  • Opera 22+
  • Microsoft Edge 15+
  • Safari 11+
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 11+

# Communication

To enable communication from your network to your instance, you need to:

  1. Allow the connection from your local network to the following ports of your instance (outgoing)
  2. Update your instance's security group or firewall configuration to allow connection to the following ports (ingoing)
Rule Description Port
SSH TCP port 22
HTTP TCP port 80
HTTPS/WSS TCP port 443
WebRTC (WebRTC is used to create a peer-to-peer connection. This peer connection uses a dynamic port) TCP and UDP ports 51000-51100

Warning

We do not recommend opening the ADB port. The ADB connection is neither secured nor authenticated. Instead we recommend creating an SSH tunnel, as explained in section Accessing a virtual device from ADB. If you do decide to open the ADB connection, allow this port: Inbound ADB on TCP port 5555 only for your IP addresses.

If you are behind a very restrictive web proxy or a secured company network, please refer to Accessing a virtual device from an enterprise network (NAT).

# Amazon Web Services

Ports are configured in a security group that contains all the firewall rules. In case you need to edit those rules:

  1. Go to Network & Security > Security groups.
  2. Select the security group associated with your virtual device.
  3. From tabs Inbound or Outbound, click Edit.
  4. Edit rules according to your needs.

# Google Cloud Platform

Ports are configured in network tags that are specific to a firewall rule. Your instance is bound to various network tags.
To edit a firewall rule:

  1. Go to VPC network > Firewall rules.
  2. Edit an existing rule by clicking its name and Edit.

# Alibaba Cloud

Ports are configured in a security group that contains all the firewall rules.
In case you need to edit those rules:

  1. Go to Network & security > Security groups.
  2. Select the security group associated with your virtual device.
  3. Click on Configure rules.
  4. Edit rules according to your needs.

# Microsoft Azure

Ports are configured in Network security groups (NSG). NSGs are usually defined during a virtual machine setup (see Azure Quickstart and Network Security Groups but can also be changed afterwards:

  1. Go to Network security groups.
  2. Select the NSG associated with your virtual machine (your_virtual_machine_name.nsg).
  3. Edit your rules according to your needs in Inbound security rules and Outbound security rules.
